Frequently Asked Questions

  • Neurodivergent-affirming therapy is an approach that treats ADHD, autism, AuDHD, and related experiences as natural variations in how brains work — not deficits to be corrected. At Get Psyched Therapy & Coaching, this means our assessments and groups are built around your actual neurology, not a neurotypical standard. Sessions are paced to your capacity, and the goal is never to make you function more like someone else.

  • AuDHD refers to the co-occurrence of autism and ADHD in the same person. Research suggests that up to 50–70% of autistic individuals also meet criteria for ADHD. AuDHD produces a unique set of challenges that standard ADHD or autism resources often miss — which is why Get Psyched Therapy offers specialized support for this overlap specifically.

  • Get Psyched Therapy & Coaching is a private-pay practice and does not bill insurance directly. A superbill is provided so you can seek reimbursement from your insurance carrier as an out-of-network provider. This structure protects your privacy, avoids insurance-mandated diagnoses, and allows therapy to be guided by your needs rather than a diagnosis code.

  • Get Psyched Therapy & Coaching provides virtual individual therapy and adult clinical autism assessments to adults in California, Texas, and Maine. Group sessions, and coaching services are available nationwide and worldwide. All sessions are conducted via secure video. No commute, no waiting room.

  • No formal diagnosis is required. Get Psyched Therapy & Coaching works with adults who are diagnosed, self-identified, or simply recognize themselves in neurodivergent descriptions. If you've been told you're "too much" or "not enough" — too intense, too scattered, too sensitive — this practice is likely a good fit.

  • Clients at Get Psyched Therapy have expressed leaving groups having a better understanding of themselves, a stronger connection to other people who really “get it,” and a higher level of self-confidence.

  • Getting started is straightforward. Visit the services page to review what's offered and check rates and insurance for pricing. Then reach out through the contact page or book directly online to schedule a consultation. All sessions are virtual, so you can get started from anywhere in California, Texas, or Maine.

Our approach

At Get Psyched Therapy & Coaching, we don’t assume you need to try harder, be more organized, or manage yourself better. We start with the understanding that your brain, nervous system, and life context matter.

Our clinicians offer warm, practical, neurodivergent-affirming support that helps you:

  • understand how your brain actually works

  • reduce shame and self-blame

  • build tools that fit your real capacity

  • stop forcing yourself into systems that were never designed for you

This work is collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in real-life application—especially for AFAB people and parents carrying invisible loads.
